Education is good but when it’s centered around literacy and big grammar, it becomes irrelevant to most parents as they won’t see the need to send their children to school.
The main goal of Education/schooling, is to impact people with knowledge that will enable them to solve societal problems or issues in their families, immediate environment and the world at large “secondarily”.
However this is not the case in Cameroon and Africa at large; where it has been limited to the mastery of big gramma (Lingo) with limited practical knowledge being impacted to students.
Big grammar and literacy are the bi-products of Education and not the main goal of education.
Most of our parents sent us to school with a hope that after we have finished schooling, we would in return alleviate them from poverty (tekeh) but this is not the case as we have tons of PHD holders in Cameroon still living as parasites.
How has it solve the issue of the parents??? I beg wuna anwer me.
Today, the products of most institutions in Cameroon are gramma talkers.
In 2019, i almost cried when i heard that dozens of unemployed PhD holders had engaged on a sit-down-strike in front of the ministry of higher education because they can’t get a job.
When person reach PHD level, you no di submit na job application again, you di submit na feasible business proposals to companies and the government. I mean business proposals and ideas that will boost their profit or improve on the Economy of the nation. Which company or government won’t integrate this kind of people???
However the kind of Education in Cameroon doesn’t warrant us to be creative as its centered around mastering industry lingos.
Today we have doctors of Medical Gramma, Dr of business gramma etc with limited practical knowledge; which warrants them to be creative.
Person go finish school with PHD and start di galivant for street with knicker and the next thing we go hear for news alakind na say, e don die for Mediterranean sea on his way to Europe for green pasture….i no want even talk about Cameroonians way dem don die for Panama forest on their way to US.
I will like to wrap up this post by presenting few question to you.
WHAT DID YOU STUDY IN SCHOOL/UNIVERSITY??? AND WHAT HAVE YOU BECOME TODAY??? HAVE YOU REALISED YOUR DREAM??? HOW FAR IS THE FUTURE YOU DREAMT ABOUT WHEN YOU WERE A KID???
If you answer the above questions honestly, you will agree with me that Education in Cameroon is a scam.
I rest my case.
